London Resort Company Holdings (LRCH), the company behind the development of the London Paramount Entertainment Resort project, have today announced a partnership with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) to develop hotels for the Entertainment Resort set to be located on the Swanscombe Peninsular in Kent.

In an announcement on their official website, LRCH confirmed that they have reached a Heads of Terms agreement with IHG to operate up to 4000 guest rooms across a series of hotels forming part of the planned Entertainment Resort. The agreement will see the hotels, which will be developed in phases, open under a number of IHG’s brands which include, Holiday Inn®, Holiday Inn Express®, Crowne Plaza®, Staybridge Suites® and the more exclusive Hotel Indigo®.

Speaking about the new agreement, Humphrey Percy, CEO of LRCH, said:

“This Head of Terms agreement with IHG is a key piece in our jigsaw puzzle of infrastructure operations which sets an important standard for the resort. This arrangement is a further example of our commitment to creating a truly global destination and entertainment resort in, and for, the UK.”

This model of operation for the Resort hotels is similar to that used by Chessington World of Adventures Resort which saw one of their hotels managed and operated under the Holiday Inn brand before Merlin Entertainments took over the running of the hotel themselves.

LRCH have also confirmed that the long awaited next stage of public consultations will take place this autumn and will see the latest plans for the Resort go on public display before the Development Consent Order is submitted to the Secretary of State at the end of November with a view to the Entertainment Resort opening in 2022.
