Fright Nights is once again here – and new for 2009 is Saw – The Ride Live. Pig-like figures roam the area tormenting passers-by, and the trap in the queue line has become occupied, in a similar fashion to when the ride opened. Hellgate, Se7en, The Asylum and The Curse return, providing some pretty inconsistent scares according to reviews so far. Theming around the park is pretty sparse this year, and overall the event has not really been improved upon since last season. New themed benches have appeared around the park which is a nice touch, pictured.

Due to how popular Fright Nights has become, the park are taking advanced bookings only from 24th October to 1st November. This includes Annual Pass holders who have to pay a booking fee. Maybe Thorpe should take a leaf out of Universal Studio’s book and make it a separate ticketed event, maintaining free entry for their most loyal customers Annual Pass holders?
