Legoland Windsor Resort have this week unveiled further details of their plans for the next 10 years, including a new attraction and accommodation, ahead of the submission of a planning application next month.

In an investment totalling £95 million, the Resort plan to construct new attractions within the Theme Park, as well as new lodge style accommodation, and the creation of additional parking spaces to help alleviate the parking issues experienced at the Resort.

In the plans, the Resort have confirmed that it will be going ahead with the construction of the Haunted House in either 2019 or 2021 following its successful 2015 appeal against the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Council’s refusal to grant permission for the ride.

Following the construction and opening of the Castle Hotel, the Resort also plans to add further accommodation in the form of a ‘holiday village’ comprising of a total of 450 lodges built in two phases on existing farmland at the back of the Resort. Phase one would consist of 120 lodges for families of up to 5, 10 larger lodges, and 20 lodges shaped in the form of Lego barrels, similar in style to ones trialled in Legoland Deutschland Resort.

The Resort also plans to make significant improvements to parking. Currently, many of the 5000 spaces the Resort currently has are often unusable due to flooding. The new plans would see new spaces created on hard standing which would mean all the spaces would be available all year round.

These latest plans follow a public consultation held last October which saw 125 feedback forms submitted. Based on this feedback, the Resort went away and amended the plans into their current form. Whilst the Resort already have planning permission for the Haunted House, it is expected that an application for the holiday village will be submitted at the beginning of May.
